WINDOWS IN TIME VIRTUAL PRESENTATIONS

August 5 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

The Southern Oregon Historical Society and Jackson County Library Services co-sponsor monthly “Windows in Time” lunchtime lecture-series. Under “normal” conditions, presentations are offered to the public on the first and second Wednesday throughout the year. During this time of uncertainty, live presentations have been deferred. However, you can enjoy these free, historic talks in the comfort of your home – virtually, via Zoom, online!

Wednesday, August 5, 12pm-1pm. Guest speakers Linda and Peter Kreisman present “Our Search for Historic Markers in Jackson County.” Register at https://jcls.libcal.com/event/6731437 to receive Zoom meeting details.

  • In 1961, Linda and Peter left Ashland, their hometown, to pursue careers in Minnesota. Upon retiring in Ashland, they began a search for the seemingly mythical Buck Rock Railroad Tunnel they heard about while growing up. This marked the beginning of their search for historic sites and markers, and for the past 12 years the Kreisman’s have found over 90 sites and markers. Join Linda and Peter August 5 as they reminisce about their search for these markers, and share the variety of sites they’ve found in Jackson County.
